SUPERFOLK SAYS:
“The Tree of Leaves” print brings together the leaves of Irish native trees onto one imaginary branch … this includes Oak, Ash, Rowan, Birch, Scots Pine, Hawthorn, Holly, Willow, Hazel and Alder. This print is a celebration of Ireland’s remaining native woodland, a tool for learning and a reminder to all to protect our rare and precious natural woodlands”.
This print is inspired by family walks in Brackloon Woods, in County Mayo and by the print “US Tree” designed by Josef Frank in 1943-1945.
ABOUT THIS PRINT:
An original design by Superfolk. Designed and made by Superfolk in the west of Ireland.
This is a handmade print, printed on handmade washi (Japanese paper). Strong, bold colours and shapes sit atop a delicate, partially translucent paper. The print is from a hand-cut lino block. Blocks are inked up by hand and lead to a unique colour variation in each print. Each print block is hand-printed onto a 34gsm long-fibred handmade Japanese washi paper from Awagami Factory in Tokushima, Japan, where they have been making washi papers for eight generations.

3 Colourways: Bog Oak Black, Rust Red Fox and Deep Forest Green.
