About the workshop:
In a relaxed, conversational setting, participants will learn the basics of block printing, from inking and composition to creating a simple repeating pattern. You’ll work with hand-carved blocks made by Superfolk, inspired by natural forms such as leaves, berries, shells, and seaweeds.
Jo Anne will guide you through the process, offering tips and encouragement as you explore rhythm, layering, and storytelling through pattern. The focus is on creativity and enjoyment, not perfection — a chance to slow down, experiment, and make something beautiful by hand.
You’ll leave with your own hand-printed furoshiki square, ready to use as a wrap, wall hanging, or keepsake. All materials and aprons are provided, but please wear old clothes, as inks can be a little messy.
Warming spiced tea and biscuits will be served as we work. This workshop is perfect for anyone who enjoys slow, thoughtful making and time spent in good company.
About Form and Fable:
This event is part of Form and Fable this winter — a beautiful new store and workshop space created by our friends at J. Hill’s Standard. The store will celebrate Irish design, making, and community, and will run from November 12 to December 21 at Wilton Park in Dublin.
