Shown here is the “Pinemartin” bag from my laptop bag series. This series of four distinctive bags (“Pinemartin”, “Hare”, “Fox” and “Sheep”) was born out of research I made into traditional materials that could be locally sourced. I then used these materials, combined with traditional construction techniques to make a product specifically to suit the needs of contemporary living. The “Pinemartin” bag for example has been specifically tailored to fit the 12” Mac Powerbook and has a very carefully but simply constructed closing system. Each bag has been named after an animal commonly spotted in Ireland’s countryside. This collection is inteneded to remind people of Ireland’s rich heritage through daily interaction.
