The pins shown here were originally designed as badges for the Aran Bags series. Different animals and colours were used to give identity to each of the individual bags. People admired the badges so much that I decided to make them into jewellery in their own right. Five were chosen for their iconic shape. The ‘Pine Martin’, ‘the Sheep’, ‘the Fox’, ‘the Hare’ and ‘the Cow’. The pins are made from steel and have a short pin soldered on the back to allow for attachment to clothing. All pins have enamel paint baked on them.
